Toy Takeover Lands at Pavilions Shopping Centre This May Half Term
Waltham Cross, UK – May 2026
Families are invited to blast off into a day of free fun this May half term as Toy Takeover arrives at Pavilions Shopping Centre on Saturday 30 May, bringing exciting character appearances, interactive photo opportunities and prizes for visitors of all ages.
Taking place from 10am until 3pm, the free family event will transform the centre into a toy-themed adventure, with visitors able to meet a much-loved space ranger during a series of special meet-and-greet sessions throughout the day.
Meet-and-greet appearances will take place at: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm
Each session will last approximately 30 minutes, giving families plenty of opportunities to snap a photo and enjoy the experience.
Visitors can also step inside the giant Toy Box Selfie Station, perfect for capturing fun family photos to share on social media.
To celebrate the event, guests who upload a photo from the day to Facebook or Instagram, tag Pavilions Shopping Centre, and share their Toy Takeover experience will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Pavilions Shopping Centre voucher to spend in-store.
Alongside the entertainment, visitors can also enjoy everything Pavilions Shopping Centre has to offer, including a great mix of high street retailers, everyday essentials, family-friendly shopping and convenient places to stop for food and refreshments, making Toy Takeover the perfect excuse for a fun and affordable family day out this half term.
Whether families are picking up the latest fashion, grabbing lunch, browsing gifts or enjoying a coffee break while the children take part in the activities, Pavilions offers something for everyone in the heart of Waltham Cross.
Paige Wood, Centre Manager at Pavilions Shopping Centre, said:
“We’re delighted to be bringing Toy Takeover to Pavilions this May half term. Creating free, family-friendly events is a really important part of what we do, and we’re always looking for new ways to bring the community together and give families a reason to spend quality time at the centre.
“This event is packed with fun, from character appearances and interactive photo moments to the chance to win a shopping voucher, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors for a fantastic day at Pavilions.”
The event is free to attend, with no booking required. Families can simply come along on the day and enjoy the activities. Pavilions will however be offering limited pre-bookable spaces for the meet and greet dedicated to SEN children only (special educational needs). To book one of these limited spots please send the centre a direct message through Facebook or Instagram.
