2023 is just around the corner and we always like to bring in the New Year with a bit of a bang. Looking to do the same? Here are just a few tips.
1. Dress to impress
Whether you’re hosting at home or going out, one thing is for sure: you’re going to want to cheer in 2023 with a great outfit. Whether it’s a new frock, smart top and trousers, or even a new pair of shoes, head on down to the centre and find your perfect look. Want to go down the sustainable route? Check out local charity shops for a one-of-a-kind buy, and don’t forget accessories like hats, feather boas, and fun glasses… hint… we’ve spotted some great ones in Claire’s. Oh and if you want to channel some Brazilian spirit, wear white, a tradition in this country for New Year’s Eve.
2. Find your perfect bite
Hosting at home? There are some great food ideas to make sure everyone is happy. Go for picky bits like smoked salmon canapes, chicken on skewers, and cheese boards for options to suit every diet. Did you know? In Spain, it’s tradition to eat 12 grapes at midnight on New Year’s Eve, one at each stroke of the clock to represent a month of good fortune in the coming year, so add these to your list and pop into Sainsbury’s for shopping.
3. The perfect setting
Make sure your home is ready to bring on the celebrations. Grab banners, bunting, and anything else you need to get your house looking party ready, and don’t forget those speakers for that all-important music. We love the idea of asking your guests for their favourite tracks in advance. Pop them onto a playlist and there won’t be any grumbles about the music this year.
