We are pleased to be participating in the Wear it Pink Event on 21st and 22nd October. The event will be in aid of Cancer UK Salone who are supporting the fight against breast cancer.

Want to get involved? It’s simple! Just visit the centre on the dates above wearing as much pink as possible. We will also have a special guest, Counsellor Paul Seeby, attending the event! There will also be a raffle which our very own retailers will be kindly providing prizes for.

We’re so proud to be supporting such a good cause and Cancer UKSalone, who put so much work into delivering the right support for cancer patients and their families in isolated communities and areas where patients cannot be reached as easily.

We can’t wait to see you on the day in your lovely pink attire!

We will be celebrating World Mental Health Day on the 10th October, which is a great chance to talk about what we need to do in order to look after our mental health and seek help if you’re struggling.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) supports the cause in making mental health and well-being for all a global priority. Events like World Mental Health Day brings awareness to the fallout caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has resulted in a global crisis for mental health, fueling short- and long-term stresses and undermining the mental health of millions.

5th September marks International Day of Charity, so we wanted to highlight some of the charitable organisations that we have here in the centre. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that there’s far more to a charity shop than meets the eye. Behind the smiling faces of the volunteers and bargains for pre-loved clothes and stock, there stands a great cause.

Marie Curie currently runs around 180 charity shops across the UK, which helps raise funds needed to care for the terminally ill. They provide frontline nursing and hospice care and a wealth of information and support for those dealing with bereavement. Last year, Marie Curie’s services helped more than 69,000 people living with a terminal illness and their families.

You can visit the Marie Curie store in the centre, which sells pre-loved clothing, homeware, and more, where the proceeds go to this amazing cause.

Pavilions also works within the local community to host events and bring businesses and residents of the local area together throughout the year. We also have a community board in the main plaza and encourage you all to use it whenever you have something to say or a cause you think we should get behind.
